Welcome to Trailer Park Tuesday, a showcase of new book trailers and, in a few cases, previews of book-related movies. Unless their last name is Grisham or King, authors will probably never see their trailers on the big screen at the local cineplex. And that's a shame because a lot of hard work goes into producing these short marriages between book and video. So, if you like what you see, please spread the word and help these videos go viral.
(Possibly NSFW. There's no graphic nudity, but there is some heavy breathing.)
Indiscretion comes at us with unbuttoned clothes, billowing sheets and bed-tumbling--not to mention the standard visual metaphor for sex: clenched hands (I ask you, how many lovers really hold hands like this during coitus?). But all that aside, I suppose the trailer does titillate enough to pull readers to the book--"a story of love, lust, deception, and betrayal" that's been compared to The Great Gatsby. In Dubow's debut novel, Harry and Madeleine Winslow seem to have it all--they've been blessed with "talent, money, and charm. Harry is a National Book Award–winning author on the cusp of greatness. Madeleine is a woman of sublime beauty and grace whose elemental goodness and serenity belie a privileged upbringing. Bonded by deep devotion, they share a love that is both envied and admired." That is, until young Claire comes along and starts unbuttoning her clothes.
