Sunday Sentence: "Between Ship and Ice" by Chelsey Johnson

Simply put, the best sentence(s) I've read this past week, presented out of context and without commentary.

Synneva touched the handle of the door, ready to slam it shut.  But the bear did not move.  And so neither did she.  Synneva had never been so aware of the body she lived in: its secret knowledge, each tensed muscle, the caged rich organs, the warmth she contained and the warmth she must give off.  Alone in the doorway between ship and ice, she stood and held the bear's gaze.  Silky shivers rippled over her, like a cold dress pulled down over her shoulders again and again.
