Welcome to Trailer Park Tuesday, a showcase of new book trailers and, in a few cases, previews of book-related movies.
Stephen King watches over us as we sleep. And sometimes he shrinks himself to Fantastic Voyage size and enters our head through our ear canals, our nostrils, or, if he’s especially daring, our open mouths. He travels light: just a notebook and a pen he uses to write down our dreams. Then, when he’s satisfied he has enough for another story about our dark inner lives, he exits our head and writes another bestselling book. His latest, The Bazaar of Bad Dreams: Stories, is out today and, as you can see from the brief trailer above, it’s full of butterflies and Grim Reapers. Other citizens of King’s dreamscape include: a man who died of colon cancer and keeps reliving the same life, doomed to repeat his mistakes over and over again; a married couple who makes a pact with the devil; a journalist who kills people by writing their obituaries; a sheriff troubled by the Old West justice meted out to a man condemned to hang; and a boy who canoes to a deserted island and finds names written in the sand, the names of people who then die in freak accidents. Sleep tight, dear readers. Don’t let the bed bugs bite.
