Trailer Park Tuesday: Let's Pretend This Never Happened by Jenny Lawson

Welcome to Trailer Park Tuesday, a showcase of new book trailers and, in a few cases, previews of book-related movies.  Unless their last name is Grisham or King, authors will probably never see their trailers on the big screen at the local cineplex.  And that's a shame because a lot of hard work goes into producing these short marriages between book and video.  So, if you like what you see, please spread the word and help these videos go viral.

Jenny Lawson, aka "The Bloggess," tells us about her book Let's Pretend This Never Happened: (A Mostly True Memoir) with the help of a taxidermied mouse sporting a British accent whose sales pitch includes references to baby raccoons in homemade clothes, bobcat urine, armadillo racing, "graves disturbed in the name of love," and poultry attacks.  In the spirit of David Sedaris, Lawson amps up the zany factor and delivers the Story of Her Life with wit and candor.  As the jolly-good-pip-pip-cheerio mouse rhetorically asks us, "Why wouldn't you want to buy a book like this?"  It's a low-budget book trailer, but it does what it sets out to do: it makes us want to rush out and buy this "book for intellectual misfits."
